On Wednesday we filmed Linda at Candi’s studio – dropping off rolls of beautiful fabric purchased on her last trip to the LA Fabric District.

After unloading, Candi began cutting swatches while Linda, with color advice from Ellie, began drawing and designing dresses for the Tangos Flamencos, Alegrias and Chamelona groups. The process is not easy. There are many dancers in each group and Linda must think not only about the color and print of each chosen fabric, but all the trim, accessories, fans and position of each dancer in that particular group.

Driving back from Ventura to Santa Barbara, around 3:30pm, sundowner winds had just started to blow down from the hills above the city causing smoke from the Jesusita Fire to billow across the sky and over the ocean. We began to wonder if we were going to make it back to the Studio.
