Annual Dance & Music Festival

The Linda Vega Dance Studio was invited by Santa Barbara Dance Alliance to perform at this years annual Dance & Music Festival (DaM Festival).

This years Festival, representing 17 cultural traditions, was staged Saturday afternoon at The Marjorie Luke Theatre. Linda chose to perform original choreography featuring her Café de Chinitas group along with a duet and desplantes by Talia and Marlon, co-choreographed by Linda and Paloma Ríos.

Thank you Julie McLeod and the Santa Barbara Dance Alliance for letting us film their rehearsal.

2010 Fiesta Spirit Pre-Audition Rehearsals

For the upcoming 2010 Spirit Audition, Old Spanish Days changed their rules. There will now be a pre-audition for the April Spirit Auditions.

Today we filmed Linda’s 2010 Spirit participants. Linda and each of her girls made final modifications to their minute and a half solos. Tomorrow, each participant will be individually videotaped and those tapes will be sent to judges around the country.

Within the next few weeks Old Spanish Days will choose 10 Jr. Spirit and 10 Spirit contestants to participate in the Aprils Finals. Dancers from all local studios are eagerly awaiting the results which may be announced the first week of November.

Natalia, a Spirit participant who left Linda’s Studio earlier this year for a 6 month ballet scholarship in Boston, is back at the Studio and surprised everyone with a classical Spanish ballet choreographed by Linda over the past week.
