After discussing the dress fitting at Maria’s studio, which took place yesterday, another fitting was scheduled this morning at Linda’s studio. Maria made modifications to the front according to Linda’s drawings and Anais loved her new dress!

The Set for the Manolo Reyes Group Reunion
Once again the historic ‘Casa de la Guerra’ set the stage for the Manolo Reyes group reunion. Talia and her friends Avery, Jocelyne, Olivia and Terra danced in to a clip from one of their last rehearsals followed by a clip of Talia’s first day of Fiesta and ending with her Fiesta Pequeña performance at the Mission. We had the best audience!

Despite the rain, the spirit was up for Linda’s participants. This morning, all wrapped up in their shawls and flamenco dresses – on their way to the annual Old Spanish Days photoshoot at the Santa Barbara Mission. Afterwards, they all stopped by the historic ‘Casa de la Guerra’ for an interview.
A Big Surprise for Jesalyn!
After first receiving a “we regret to inform you that your score did not qualify you to continue with the 2010 Junior Spirit Audition process,” Jesalyn and family got a surprise call from the Old Spanish Days office saying “sorry, we sent the wrong letter.” It’s now late in the season and she has about 2 months to prepare her dance and design a new costume. Only 9 years old, her first time trying out; a ‘love bug’ as Linda calls her.
